Flight Theme

It is now 100 years since the Wright Brothers flew the first mainly wooden aeroplane a short distance.
Nowadays ordinary people go on holidays using modern aircraft made
from metals and modern plastics etc.

Part A - do this or part B below   Year 8

1) Draw one aeroplane
that you have seen.
2) Draw a possible futuristic aeroplane.
3) Draw a birdseye view of what you think an airport of the future may look like.
Remember to include:-
a) runways
b) control tower
c) place for people boarding
d) access roads
e) car parking
f) a few aeroplanes on the airfield.

4) Design the inside of a imaginary terminal building where the travellers spend time when waiting for their aeroplane.
To include:- shopping area, duty free shop, passport and security area for luggage checking and departure lounges.

Part B     Years 5 and 6

First do
1) and 2) as above
then
3) Design and draw a boardgame called ‘Fly me’ that uses toy aeroplanes on a board. Things to add could include:- places to land (countries) challenges etc.
