Basic components
To help you connect up the circuit you need to be aware of the following:-
Electrolytic capacitors MUST to be connected
the correct way round.
The negative mark and
short lead indicate  the
negative side.

Diodes have a white ring round
the cathode (negative) end which
MUST be connected the correct
way round.

1000 ohm    (1K)     Brown Black  Red
The end gold band shows it has a 5% tolerance

10000 ohm  (10K )  Brown Black Orange Gold
The end gold band shows it has a 5% tolerance

Tolerance band    10%
Tolerance band      5%
Multipliers Symbols
M  =  1,000,000
K  =   1,000              so    4K7   means     4700  ohms

       so    1M2  means     1,200,000  ohms.
Prefered Values  - resistors are sold in prefered values.
The 10% basic range uses values that are 10% different from one another.
Like this 10 12 15 18 22  27 33 39 47 56 68 and 82    (x the multiplier)
add 0 (add 1 zero)
Worked Example    What value is a resistor marked  yellow, violet, yellow?
Answer yellow (4) violet (7) yellow (4)   =  470000  = 470K
Resistors resist (reduce) the flow of electricity

This version of the Brainy-USB low-cost 8pin microcontroller kit, when
assembled by soldering, makes a versatile control board that can be
programmed via a computer using the latest Flowol 3 progam and a Flowic
8 pin chip.
It has three outputs, one of which can control a small dc motor while the
other two can operate light emmiting diodes (LEDs). You can test and debug
your program directly when the Brainy-USB board is connected to the USB
download cable. When the user has downloaded the program the USB cable
is removed for ‘stand alone’ autonomous use.  Brainy-USB is designed to
easily intergrate with working models, such as a fairground ride made from
Kre8, using the corner holes.  Users connect to the input/s or outputs by
soldering wires and can anchor  them in place using the fixing holes.
*Alternatively ‘screw connectors’ can be added by soldering -any type of
connectors that have a pin spacing of 5mm.
For use with Flowol software program and FlowIC PIC chip all supplied by Kelvin
